Doja Cat Delivers ‘Scarlet 2 Claude’ Cut On ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’

Doja Cat came to 30 Rock on Wednesday for a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The rapper performed “ACKNOWLEDGE ME” from the deluxe edition of her 2023 album Scarlet, Scarlet 2 Claude.

Scarlet 2 Claude arrived on April 5 following the release of Scarlet in September 2023. The deluxe edition features seven new songs and includes guest spots from A$AP Rocky and Teezo Touchdown.

As Forbes pointed out, Doja Cat noted on The Therapy Gecko Podcast that the title to Scarlet 2 Claude references the character Claude Frollo in Victor Hugo’s classic work The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

“I feel like it connects to the story of Scarlet in some way,” she said. “And if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand the whole connection. There’s a control aspect. He just abuses his power and his control and is dogmatic and a total c**t.”
