Guitarist DJ Williams of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will bring his DJ Williams’ Shots Fired project on the road for a tour of California in August. Williams’ band features an ever-changing lineup and past and present members of KDTU, Slightly Stoopid, The Greyboy Allstars, The Marcus King Band and Lyrics Born will be among those participating in the tour.

DJ Williams’ Shots Fired’s “West Coast Massive Nights Tour” will be split between two distinct rosters. Williams will team with members of Slightly Stoopid, GBA and Tiny Universe for concerts at Winston’s in San Diego on August 13 and St. Rocke in Hermosa Beach on August 14. For the rest of the tour, the collective will consist of former MKB keyboardist DeShawn Alexander, Lyrics Born drummer , dub bassist Derrick Wong and special guests.

The second lineup hits the road starting with a show at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael on August 18 and concluding at Berryessa Brewery in Winters on August 25. In between, the ensemble will perform in Sacramento on August 20, June Lake on August 21, Nevada City on August 22, Cloverdale on August 23 and Chico on August 24.

Following the release of Lift Off via YouTube earlier this year, DJ Williams’ Shots Fired are working with producers Josh Fairman (SunSquabi) and Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation) to prep a forthcoming release that will be put out by Eddie Roberts’ Color Red imprint.
