Dinosaur Jr.‘s new album, Sweep It Into Space, arrives this Friday via Jagjaguwar. Today, the trio shared the LP’s third single, “Take It Back,” along with a video for the track.

The bulk of Sweep It Into Space was recorded with producer Kurt Vile at Biquiteen in Amherst, Massachusetts in the fall of 2019. Dinosaur Jr. — which consists of guitarist J Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph — completed work on the 12-track LP after the pandemic began with Mascis at the helm.

Dinosaur Jr. tapped Callum Scott-Dyson to direct the video for “Take It Back” using stop-motion animation and colorful collaged images. “[I] really wanted to use the creature on the front of the album sleeve for Sweep It Into Space as an inspiration and springboard for its own little adventure, exploring some simple notions of creation, dependence, coming of age and searching for another like yourself,” Callum Scott-Dyson explained. “I wanted to mix those themes with my style of stop motion animation, everything being very DIY and handmade, using any materials I could get my hands on to bring the idea to life and give it a surreal and otherworldly feel.”
