Dezron Douglas released a new single, “More Coffee Please.” The track is set for the acclaimed bassist’s forthcoming album, Atalaya, due out on November 18 via International Anthem.

Douglas announced Atalaya in early October and shared the title track. The bassist now follows with “More Coffee Please,” a fitting release as the renowned coffee lover recently teamed up with Ria Neri of Chicago coffee outfit Four Letter Word to craft his own Atalaya blend of direct-from-farm Ethiopian coffees.

Press materials for “More Coffee Please” detailed the new track:

Anyone who knows Dezron knows how much of a coffee aficionado he is… the highest standards, only the good shit! They also know how high his standards are for melodically massive, limber low end lumber thrums… That is: Bass Lines. Perhaps more than any other tune on his new album, “More Coffee Please” demonstrates Dezron’s ability to really rip the double bass… swinging so hard, lifting the band up to full-blown levitation, like caffeine in the bloodstream. “More Coffee Please” is an impressive showcase for the bass, and a beautiful homage to the bean.

The new single features Douglas on bass, keyboardist George Burton, saxophonist Emilio Modeste and drummer Joe Dyson Jr. Watch the video for “More Coffee Please” below:

Dezron continues his work with Trey Anastasio Band this month. Check out the bassist’s itinerary:
