Devo’s Tiny Desk Concert debut has arrived. The art-punk pioneers offered a rarity, songs from their 1978 LP Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! and more.

Devo celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2023. To mark the occasion, the band released a career-spanning collection, 50 Years Of De-Evolution (1973-2023), on October 20, 2023, as well as their first official documentary.

The Devo lineup on Tiny Desk included original members, frontman Mark Mothersbaugh, guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh and bassist Gerald Casale, along with touring members, drummer Jeff Friedl and guitarist Josh Hager.

The band kicked off their Tiny Desk with a song “members say they hadn’t performed in more than 40 years,” as per NPR Music, “It Takes a Worried Man.” Devo contributed the tune to Neil Young’s 1982 film Human Highway.

Next, Devo delivered “Blockhead” off their 1979 LP, Duty Now for the Future. The band then turned to their 1978 debut album, Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!, to wrap the session with “Praying Hands” and “Come Back Jonee.”
