Derek Trucks Not Interested In Potential Allman Brothers Reunion

Earlier this month Gregg Allman revealed members of the Allman Brothers Band had been in talks about reuniting for a major city tour. If the potential reunion does happen it appears we can count guitarist Derek Trucks out.

Trucks spoke with the Boston Herald ahead of the Tedeschi Trucks Band‘s upcoming three-night stand at the Orpheum about the Boston run, the future of his band and more. “First things first: Derek Trucks isn’t interested in that rumored Allman Brothers Band reunion in 2017. He loves the guys and music, but the former ABB guitarist has a group of his own now, the Tedeschi Trucks Band. And they’re tremendous,” wrote Jed Gottlieb of the Boston Herald.

While Derek had previously discussed a new live album from the TTB would be coming, he now says a concert film is also in the works, “We’ve also got a new live album we’re finishing up and a (concert) film. We’re going to stay on it. We’re right in the thick of it as a band. I don’t want to let up.” The Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to the stage on Thursday night in Boston.
