Derek Smalls Shares ‘MRI’ Video Featuring Dweezil Zappa

Earlier this year, Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls (comedian Harry Shearer) issued his debut solo album Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing) through Twanky Records/BMG. The guest-filled album featured guitarist Dweezil Zappa who also appears in the newly shared video for the album track “MRI.”

Derek Smalls was first portrayed by Shearer in the 1984 mockumentary feature film This Is Spinal Tap. In addition to Dweezil, other guests Shearer tapped to appear on Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing) included Peter Frampton, David Crosby, Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Rick Wakeman (Yes), Richard Thompson, Steve Lukather (Toto), Joe Satriani, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Paul Shaffer, Jim Keltner, The Snarky Puppy Horns, Michael League (Snarky Puppy), Jane Lynch, Judith Owen, Steve Vai and others.
