Del McCoury Band are the latest participants in NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series. The bluegrass outfit performed three songs during their live session at Bob Boilen’s desk in Washington D.C.
Legendary bluegrass guitarist Del McCoury and his namesake band mates, his sons Ronnie McCoury on mandolin and Rob McCoury on banjo, as well as fiddler Jason Carter and bassist Alan Bartram led off with “That Ol’ Train” from their recently issued album Del McCoury Still Sings Bluegrass. Next up was a cover of Richard Thompson’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightning,” followed by “All Aboard” from the 2001 Del And The Boys LP.
