Del McCoury Band released a new single, “Once Again.” The song will appear on the bluegrass legend’s upcoming album, Almost Proud, arriving on February 18, 2022 via the McCoury Music imprint.

Del McCoury Band announced Almost Proud in October. The album features a mix of music Del McCoury listened to while sidelined by the pandemic along with a few new tunes like lead single “Running Wild,” which, although begun 15 years ago, just received a fresh revisiting and recording. McCoury now follows with “Once Again,” a song he collaborated on with singer-songwriter Josh Shilling, who also adds some bluesy, honky-tonk piano.

McCoury spoke about his collaboration with Shilling in Relix, who premiered “Once Again”:

“Josh Shilling knows how much I love Jerry Lee Lewis songs, and that I really enjoy when I can add a piano to what we do,” Del said. “So when he wrote this song with Bill Whyte, he said he had me in mind. And well, it’s just a really good song and I’m glad he did. Also glad he is playing piano on it.”
