Providence rockers Deer Tick sure know how to throw a party. This year, as in previous years, the band has hosted Newport Folk Festival after shows at Newport Blues and treated fans to guest and cover-filled performances. On Saturday night, July 25, Deer Tick ended the show by debuting their cover of “Touch Of Grey” by the Grateful Dead. Deer Tick’s rollicking version of the Grateful Dead’s lone top ten hit turned into a wild and raucous singalong for those in attendance. Before starting the song frontman John McCauley revealed “Touch Of Grey” is his daughter’s favorite tune and proceeded to dedicate the song to her.
