Decemberists Announce New Album In Particularly Cool Fashion

Today, The Decemberists announced they will soon release a new album, titled What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, in a particularly cool way. Consequence of Sound reports that Decemberists front man Colin Meloy performed a pair of songs, including a tune off the new LP, on the streets of Williamsburg in NYC in front of a mural depicting the cover art for What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World.

So far, no release date or additional details about the album have been revealed, but fan-shot video of Meloy’s solo performance of the new song “Make It Better.” Take a look:

What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World will be The Decemberists’ first since 2011’s The King Is Dead and seventh studio effort overall.
