In April of 1995 Ween brought their tour in support of Chocolate & Cheese to Australia and New Zealand. Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo and Aaron “Gene Ween” Melchiondo were joined on the jaunt by drummer Claude Coleman Jr. and bassist Andrew Weiss. On April 18, the quartet made an appearance on RRR Radio in which they responded to caller’s questions and performed a handful of songs on acoustic.

Deaner has shared audio of Ween’s appearance on RRR Radio and it’s a fantastic listen for the connoisseurs of the brown. The group shows off their sense of humor in responding to the often inane questions thrown their way and show off their talent on unplugged performances of such songs as “Mister Would You Please Help My Pony?” and “Pumpin’ 4 The Man.” We also get to hear the band create a new blues-rock original, “Shrimp On The Barbie,” on the spot. Ween jams along with caller Dylan who adds harmonica to “Shrimp On The Barbie.” Ween also responds to a request for a Devo song by attempting a cover of “Mongoloid.” Take a listen to the 45-minute appearance:

Ween returns to the stage for the first time since 2011 at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado February 12 – 14.
