Dean Ween Plotting Marijuana-Friendly Venue In Denver
Ween guitarist Dean Ween will lend his name and talents to a new marijuana-friendly venue in Denver dubbed “Dean Ween’s Honeypot Lounge” according to a report from The Denver Post. The venue’s chief operating officer Michael Polansky pitched the plan for the first of its kind operation at a city meeting in Denver yesterday.
Deaner would play the venue “in various incarnations” and serve as entertainment director as per The Denver Post. Attendees would be able to use cannabis freely without harm of retribution. “I think cannabis and music make total, total sense together,” Polansky told the paper. “We think that we can offer a unique kind of musical experience for Denver and the world.” Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo’s rep confirmed his involvement to The Denver Post. Ideally, the team behind Dean Ween’s Honeypot Lounge would open the venue by or on April 20.
The next step for venue organizers is to apply for a license that would allow marijuana consumption. While organizers have yet to reveal their specific location or enter their application, they plan to do so “within a few weeks.” Read The Denver Post’s report for more information.
