Dawes recently kicked off a run of spring shows in Southeast that continues through tomorrow, Thursday, April 18 at the Moon Crush Pink Moon event in Miramar, Florida. Frontman Taylor Goldsmith surprised fans who arrived early at a pair of recent stops by performing solo for them.

Video of the intimate and acoustic “appetizers” served up by the guitarist and singer has been shared on Dawes’ Instagram. Both performances can be viewed below.

On Friday, April 12, Goldsmith greeted concertgoers shortly after doors opened at Greenville, South Carolina’s Peace Pavilion. “I figured while you guys were waiting, I’d do a warmup for everybody,” Taylor told the shocked fans. Goldsmith sat on the lip of the stage and performed an unplugged rendition of “Somewhere Along The Way.” The song is featured on Dawes’ 2015 album, All Your Favorite Bands.

Taylor Goldsmith reprised the warmup on Sunday, April 14 in Macon, Georgia with a different song and this time before doors to the venue opened. Goldsmith emerged from the Hargray Capitol Theatre to treat those lined up to enter to “Love Is All I Am” from the Los Angeles-based rockers’ debut album, 2009’s North Hills.

“I’m gonna sing a song before we all go inside,” Goldsmith said as he started strumming the beautiful ballad. He then advised, “If you all save each others’ places in line, you can come closer.” Nearly a whisper could be heard as Taylor performed “Love Is All I Am.”
