Sacred steel specialist Roosevelt Collier has been added as an Artist-At-Large to the Big River Getdown. As per David Shaw, Roosevelt is “going to be getting down with The Revivalists, The Wild Feathers, Maggie Koerner, The Temperance Movement, The Marcus King Band and The Trongone Band throughout the day.”
The 2016 installment of David Shaw’s Big River Getdown will take place at RiversEdge Amphitheater in Hamilton, Ohio on September 10. Today, organizers of the event hosted by hometown favorite David Shaw of The Revivalists revealed the lineup.
Not only will The Revivalists perform at this year’s event, but Shaw will also play an acoustic set. The Wild Feathers, Maggie Koerner, The Marcus King Band, The Temperance Movement and The Trongone Band round out the lineup for the 2016 Big River Getdown. A special guest performer will be announced soon.
“This event is extraordinarily special to me because I believe that music can be the foundation and catalyst for big change and growth,” said Shaw in a statement. “Not just for the city, but for the people deep inside at their core. When others from around the tri-state area get wind of what we’re doing here, they’re going to take notice. A city like Hamilton has a rich history filled with a lot of interesting characters, twists and turns. I believe that the Big River Get Down will serve as a turning point for the city in terms of togetherness, morale and pride. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for both the City of Hamilton and the Big River Get Down. We’re in this as one, we’re in this together.” All proceeds from the second annual Big River Get Down will be dedicated to the City of Hamilton’s 4th of July fireworks and to provide additional free concerts at RiversEdge Amphitheater.
A pre-sale for the event will take place this Thursday, June 9 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketfly with general admission tickets on sale Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m. ET.
