Full show audio of Spafford’s Wednesday night show in Athens has surfaced and can be streamed below.
The 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia hosted a two set Spafford concert Wednesday night. The first half of the show was capped by a sit-in from Cracker frontman David Lowery who joined the group on a performance of one his band’s classic songs.
“Plans” opened Wednesday’s show at the 40 Watt and was followed by the pair of “It’s A Bunch” into “Mind’s Unchained.” Next came “Windmill” and “People” before Lowery emerged for the set closer which was a cover of Cracker’s “Low.” Lowery, who founded Camper Van Beethoven and lectures at the nearby University Of Georgia, played acoustic guitar and sang lead on Spafford’s debut performance of the 1993 hit single.
Spafford delivered a five song second set started by “Lonely” and concluded with “All In.” Between those tunes the quartet offered “The Remedy” as well as “In The Eyes Of Thieves” which segued into “On Fire.” The Athens audience was treated to a “Todd’s Tots” encore to close out the show.
Audience-shot video of Lowery’s sit-in was captured by runaway jr, watch the footage below:
