This Friday, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour will release a concert film Live At Pompeii. Video of Gilmour and his band’s impressive performance of a beloved Pink Floyd song has been shared.
Live At Pompeii was recorded at two shows Gilmour and his band played in July 2016 in the ancient Italian city. The concerts took place at the Pompeii Amphitheatre, the same roman amphitheater where Pink Floyd recorded Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii 45 years prior. Gavin Elder directed the new concert film in stunning 4K format.
One of the standout moments of the 148-minute concert film is Gilmour’s performance of “Run Like Hell” from Pink Floyd’s iconic The Wall album. The guitarist’s trademark tone is so crucial to just how well David and his band pulled off the song. “Run Like Hell” closed the second set at both July 2016 concerts and was accompanied by a fireworks display.
