Panicstream has shared a recording of David Gilmour’s concert at Brighton Centre held on September 5. Head here to download or stream the entire show.
On Saturday night David Gilmour kicks off his first tour in nearly a decade at the Pula Arena in Croatia. The Pink Floyd guitarist played a warm-up show this past Saturday evening at the 4,500 capacity Brighton Centre in Brighton, U.K. Gilmour’s first full show since August 26, 2006 gave us a hint of what is to come on the legendary axeman’s World Tour in support of Rattle That Lock.

Gilmour’s eight-piece band featured Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, bassist Guy Pratt, keyboardists Jon Carin and Kevin McAlea , drummer Steve DiStanislao, saxophonist Theo Travis and backing vocalists Bryan Chambers and Louise Clare Marshall.
The guitarist and his band opened the show with the live debuts of three songs off the soon-to-be-released Rattle That Lock – “5AM,” “Rattle That Lock” and “Faces Of Stone.” Gilmour then gave fans their first taste of Pink Floyd in “Wish You Were Here.” Next up was “A Boat Lies Here Waiting,” David’s tribute to his Pink Floyd bandmate Richard Wright, and Gilmour’s first-ever solo band renditions of Dark Side Of The Moon tracks “Money” and “Us & Them.” Gilmour hadn’t performed “Us & Them” since Pink Floyd’s final tour in 1994. The first set came to a close with the live debut of “In Any Tongue” and the final track from Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell, “High Hopes.”
Set Two started off with a triple dose of Pink Floyd: “Astronomy Domine,” “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and “Fat Old Sun.” 2006’s On An Island, Gilmour’s previous solo album, was only represented by its title track. David then went back to Rattle That Lock for the live debuts of “The Girl In The Yellow Dress” and “Today.” The guitarist had two more treats in store to end the closing stanza as he trotted out his first-ever solo versions of Pink Floyd’s “Sorrow” and “Run Like Hell.” For the encore, David and his ensemble gave the capacity crowd more Floyd as he connected “Time” and “Breathe (Reprise)” before delivering his signature solo as part of “Comfortably Numb.”
