David Crosby Shares ‘Laughing’ Demo
Listen to a previously unreleased early sketch featured on the forthcoming ‘If I Could Only Remember My Name (50th Anniversary Edition)’ reissue.

Legendary singer-songwriter David Crosby unveiled the demo for “Laughing.” The early sketch is one of a dozen previously unreleased tracks that appears on an upcoming 50th anniversary reissue of If I Could Only Remember My Name, Crosby’s 1971 debut solo album.
If I Could Only Remember My Name (50th Anniversary Edition) featuring remastered audio of the original album and the bonus material arrives digitally and as a 2CD set via Rhino on October 15. The remastered original album comes out the same day on 180-gram vinyl.
David Crosby first issued If I Could Only Remember My Name on February 22, 1971. Croz was joined on the LP by an impressive array of collaborators including Joni Mitchell, Jerry Garcia, David Freiberg, Gregg Rolie, Grace Slick, Phil Lesh, Jack Casady, Graham Nash, Bill Kreutzmann, Paul Kantner, Jorma Kaukonen and Mickey Hart. Mitchell, Garcia, Nash, Kreutzmann and Hart each contributed to the album’s fourth track, “Laughing.”
