David Byrne Guests With Arcade Fire In Brooklyn

Arcade Fire upped the ante on the hometown covers they’ve been adding to most Reflektor Tour performances during a just-completed three-night stand at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. On Friday night New York Dolls front man David Johansen donned his Buster Poindexter gear for a cover of “Hot Hot Hot” and on Saturday night drummer Marky Ramone sat in on a pair of The Ramones covers. A third legend from NYC’s CBGBs days, David Byrne, was last night’s guest for the Brooklyn finale.

Byrne came out dressed as Dracula to lead Arcade Fire through a cover of Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream,” a song Bruce Springsteen has been covering of late as well. The Suicide cover came at the start of the encore, just after a fake out of LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends” performed by the bobbleheads. Watch fan-shot footage of the cover via Hellspawn3000:

Here’s the setlist from last night’s show:

Arcade Fire now heads to Chicago for a two-night stand that starts tomorrow.
