David Byrne Adds NYC Stops To American Utopia Tour

Longtime New York City resident David Byrne didn’t have any performances of his American Utopia Tour scheduled for his hometown except a set during Panorama. Today, Byrne has extended the tour into September with the addition of two NYC headlining shows.

David Byrne will play Forest Hills Stadium in Queens for the first time since an August 1983 Talking Heads show on September 15. Then, Byrne takes the tour to Brooklyn for a performance at Kings Theatre on September 17. tUnE-YaRdS will open both NYC concerts. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 9 at 10 a.m. ET.

Byrne began his “untethered” tour this past Saturday night at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey. Head here for a full report. On Friday, David Byrne releases his new album American Utopia, and will be interviewed and perform on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
