Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Kick Off European Tour In London
By Scott Bernstein Mar 21, 2017 • 6:45 am PDT

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds began an extensive tour of Europe on Monday night at Eventim Apollo in London. The duo delivered a pair of sets featuring material from throughout Dave’s career as well as a few solo Tim Reynolds performances to kick off their first tour of the continent since 2007.
Dave and Tim started the evening with a 10-song first set that included takes on “Don’t Drink The Water,” “Satellite,” “Grey Street,” “The Space Between,” “Gravedigger” and more. Reynolds gave Matthews a break towards the end of the opening stanza with a solo rendition of “A Tangled Web We Weave.”
Dave told a few stories throughout the night and at one point in the second set gave background on the title of “Samurai Cop.” Matthews revealed he was watching the 1991 movie of the same name when penning the tune, but that he sure hopes the song is better than the terrible movie. The guitarists fit a few more recent compositions into the second set besides “Samurai Cop,” namely “Virginia In The Rain” and “Bismarck.” Dave and Tim concluded the tour opener with an encore of “Little Red Bird” and “You Might Die Trying.” The pair returns to Eventim Apollo on Tuesday night.
