One week ago Chip Hooper, the head of music at Paradigm Talent Agency and the agent for Dave Matthews Band, Phish and many others, sadly died at the age of 53 after a battle with cancer. Tributes to the well-respected and influential industry veteran have continued to be shared by those who knew and were impacted by Hooper’s work, including Dave Matthews.
The Dave Matthews Band posted the following message regarding Hooper:
In Memory of Chip Hooper
DMB’s longtime agent and friend.
“Chip could shine a light on the best things about a person. He always made me feel worthwhile. He always made you want to do more, and work harder, and believe that you could. He was one of the most generous people I have ever known. I think he made the world a better place.”
– Dave Matthews
Phish guitarist Trey Anastatio also recently weighed in on Hooper’s influence on the band. Read his statement here and more tributes to Hooper here.
