Dave Matthews Band issued their first studio album in five years, Come Tomorrow, earlier this month. Frontman Dave Matthews went solo during a recent Tiny Desk Concert performance for NPR Music that features songs from the new record and a few older favorites.
Performing alone on acoustic guitar at Bob Boilen’s workspace at NPR’s offices in Washington D.C., Matthews opened his five-song set with the Come Tomorrow single “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)” and fellow album cut “Here On Out.” Matthews then progressed through “Don’t Drink the Water” off 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets and “Mercy” from the DMB’s 2012 album Away From The World. The set closed with “So Damn Lucky” from Matthews 2005 solo studio LP Some Devil.
