Dave Matthews Band treated fans attending night two of two-show run at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut to the live premiere of a new original song. DMB delivered the debut performance of “Straight Shot” for the first time in public.
Touring in support of their studio album, Walk Around The Moon, which came out in May, Dave Matthews Band’s performance of “Straight Shot” marks the second new original tune debuted this year that is not one of the 12 included on the album. This past summer, DMB played the illusively titled unreleased original “Cha Cha (Only Takes a Moment)” for the first time as well.

“That song’s called ‘Straight Shot,’” frontman Dave Matthews told the audience at Tuesday’s show after the premiere. “That’s the first time we’ve played it. Thank y’all so much.”

Last night’s debut was preceded by the show opening “Busted Stuff,” marking the longtime setlist staple’s second time in the opener slot. The current tour has seen a trend of unexpected openers as several atypical songs, like “Busted Stuff,” have gotten the call to start the show.
After a couple of days off, Dave Matthews Band kicks off a two-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City this Friday, November 17. Scroll on to view the band’s full list of tour dates and last night’s setlist.
