On June 17, 2004 the debuted an original named “Sugar Will” and played the song dozens of times that year. Then, all of the sudden, “Sugar Will” disappeared as four years passed before DMB trotted out the song for six performances in 2008 and twice in 2010 at which point it was shelved once more … until last night.
Matthews opened DMB’s visit to the U.K.’s Manchester Apollo with the first-ever solo version of “Sugar Will.” The song was last played on March 7, 2010 at the same venue. Watch video of last night’s “Sugar Will” captured by Philly Steph:
