Dave Grohl Performs ‘Blackbird’ For Oscars’ In Memoriam Tribute

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was tapped to provide the soundtrack for last night’s In Memoriam tribute at the 88th annual Academy Awards. Grohl was backed by an orchestra as he performed the Beatles’ classic “Blackbird” while photos and video of those the film world has lost over the last 12 months was shown.

David Bowie, who appeared in such films as Labyrinth and The Man Who Fell To Earth, was among those honored during the tribute. Watch Grohl perform “Blackbird” as part of last night’s Oscars’ telecast:
