Dark Star Orchestra To Cap 2024 With Fall Tour & Cosmic New Year’s Run
The Grateful Dead tribute act will bookend their last set of 2024 tour dates with multi-night visits to The Capitol Theatre.

Dark Star Orchestra announced their final batch of 2024 tour dates. The Grateful Dead tribute act will start a two-week fall tour at The Capitol Theatre on November 15 and 16 and return to the historic Port Chester, New York rock palace to end this year’s Cosmic New Year’s Run on December 30 and 31.
“In my opinion, The Cap is the most iconic east coast Grateful Dead-oriented venue. Peter Shapiro has put together a temple to all things Grateful Dead housed in a holy place of Dead history,” Dark Star Orchestra keyboardist Rob Barraco said of the band’s upcoming performances in Port Chester. “The production is second to none. DSO treasures our shows there. New Year’s is becoming a hallowed tradition. The addition of another weekend means more variety from us show-wise.”

Ten other cities in the Northeast will host DSO between the pair of two-night stands at The Cap. Dark Star will follow the November shows in Port Chester with a swing through Upstate New York featuring stops in Poughkeepsie on November 17, Rome on November 20 and Binghamton on November 21. The fall tour also includes shows in Boston on November 22, New Haven (Connecticut) on November 23, Pittsburgh on November 26, Jim Thorpe (Pennsylvania) on November 27 and Huntington (New York) on November 29 and 30.
Dark Star Orchestra will get their 2024 Cosmic New Year’s Run underway at The Anthem in Washington D.C. on December 28. A gig in Philadelphia follows on December 29 before the band heads back to The Cap to ring in 2025 on December 30 and New Year’s Eve (December 31).
General on-sales begin this Friday, August 23 at 10 a.m. ET. Up first is an Artist Presale using the password SHAKEDOWN on Wednesday, August 21 starting at 10 a.m. ET and continuing until Thursday, August 22 at 10 p.m. ET.

Dark Star Orchestra resumes their summer tour tomorrow, August 21 at Innovative Field in Rochester, New York. After ending the excursion with an appearance at Borderland on September 15, the GD tribute act crosses the Atlantic for shows in Paris and London.
