Damon Albarn of Gorillaz and Blur fame unveiled “Polaris,” the second single from his forthcoming sophomore solo album, The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows. Albarn also shared a live performance video featuring his latest single.

The 11-track The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows arrives through Transgressive Records on November 12. Damon Albarn previously released the LP’s title track.

Damon’s first and only solo album since 2014’s Everyday Robots was originally conceived as a symphonic piece inspired by Iceland’s landscapes. However, Albarn decided to fully develop the songs last year while locked down during the pandemic. The album is said to capture “the emotional ebb and flow of the human condition, in all its extremes, serving as a soul enriching document for our times” as per press materials heralding its upcoming release.

The “Polaris” clip is the first installment in the Sublime Boulevards – Performance Filmes video series directed by Transgressive Records founder Toby L. Albarn is backed by a full live band as well as a string quartet in the black and white visual.
