Cubensis “Dead Marathon” in Southern California

Cubensis
Long time Grateful Dead tribute band Cubensis is challenging their fans to do a marathon with them; six shows in six days, including two shows at West Hollywood’s House of Blues and an appearance with Melvin Seals & JGB.

The run starts at Cubensis’ usual Tuesday night haunt (Marlin Bar & Grill in Huntington Beach, CA on November 13), then proceeds to the West Hollywood’s House of Blues on Wednesday. Thursday finds Cubensis opening for JBG at Canes in San Diego, CA, followed by another House of Blues show in Anaheim, CA on Friday. Saturday, the Las Vegas Jam Band Society hosts the band at Moondoggies West in Las Vegas, and then there’s a quick return trip to Santa Monica, CA for the regular Cubensis Sunday night engagement at 14 Below. Free tickets for the House of Blues shows can be downloaded from the band’s website here.

Cubensis has invited their followers to do all six shows, with the promise that once accomplished, the band will refund their admission charges with “Cubensis cash,” script that can be used for entry at upcoming Cubensis shows in Santa Monica and Huntington Beach.

The band is looking forward to their “Cubensis Karaoke” benefit on Sunday, November 25 at 14 Below in Santa Monica. For $20, which will be donated to charity, a fan can join the band for a song, either singing or playing an instrument. All proceeds will benefit www.s-h-e-l-t-e-r.org, a local homeless-relief organization creating small personal shelters that can be used by indigent people and also may see use during a large-scale disaster. Fans will also participate in a family-style potluck dinner set up early on the dance floor that night.

Cubensis is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an all-ages gala party and reunion at the Galaxy Concert Theatre in Santa Ana, CA on Friday, December 28.

Cubensis tour dates available here.
