New York City-based pop musician Zach Maxwell is a longtime Phish fan. The Middlebury College in Vermont alum has recently shared a inventive cover of Phish’s song “Ghost.”

The video below incorporates a sample of Phish’s performance of “Ghost” from December 31, 2010. Here’s how Maxwell described the genesis of the cover:
Phish has been my favorite band since I was a kid, and on the other side of the musical spectrum, Michael Jackson competes for my #1 favorite slot as well. So what better way to do a cover of Phish’s “Ghost” than to pay homage to Michael at the same time! So, without further adieu, here is a very Michael-esque version of Phish’s “Ghost” feat. the 12/31/2010 ‘Holy Ghost’ from Madison Square Garden.
