Courtney Marie Andrews recently released Valentine, her first new album in four years. The Phoenix-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter performed three cuts from the record for the latest “Saturday Sessions” set featured on CBS Saturday Morning.

“[Valentine is] a record in pursuit of love,” Courtney Marie Andrews stated of the 10-track LP. “But love, it turns out, is a lot more than I gave it credit for.”

Andrews was accompanied on CBS by the album’s co-producer and guitarist Jerry Bernhardt. The pair recorded the follow-up to 2022’s Loose Future direct to analog tape at Valentine Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

Courtney Marie Andrews and Jerry Bernhardt were both on acoustic guitars at the CBS studios for performances of “Cons and Clowns” and “Everyone Wants To Feel Like You Do.” Andrews shifted to electric piano with Bernhardt on electric guitar to play fellow Valentine track “Pendulum Swing.”
