Guitarist Cory Wong unveiled video of the track “St. Paul” featuring pianist Jon Batiste. Wong released the studio version of “St. Paul” on his recent album, Motivational Music For The Syncopated Soul.

Wong and Batiste are joined on “St. Paul” by organist Kevin Gastonguay, bassist Louis Cato, drummer Nate Smith and saxophonist Tivon Pennicott. Cory kicks off a world tour in support of the LP in Vancouver on October 17. Read a note from the Minneapolis-based guitarist on the track:

I had the melody for this tune floating in my head for a long time. I thought it had an old school feel to it, that lends itself to being passed around between guitar, piano and saxophone. Jon Batiste and I met in St. Paul when he was the guest host on Live From Here, and I was playing in the house band. We hit it off musically and decided…HEY! We should record some stuff together. I set up this session in NYC the next month. He invited me out to also play in the house band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he’s the bandleader. We taped the show that afternoon and went straight to the studio to record together! I’d say it was a productive day….
