Chicago was the penultimate stop on Cory Wong’s 2024 Fall Tour on Friday. The concert at the Salt Shed featuring guitarist Mark Lettieri also saw Wong welcoming his Vulfpeck bandmate Antwaun Stanley for a Vulf favorite, cover and more.
Guitarist and composer Cory Wong focused on his collaborative album, The Lucky One, in Chicago, performing the 2023 LP’s “The Grid Generation,” “Flamingo” and more. With Lettieri in tow, the band delivered his “Tidal Tail” and “Gigantactis.”

Additional guests included vocalist Soraya Sebghati on “Synchronicity” and “Starting Line” along with vocalist Tema Siegal on The Lucky One’s “Look at Me” as well as a cover of Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.”
Stanley emerged following the latter to sing on his contagiously funky 2017 collaboration with Cory, “Work It Out.” Stanley stayed on for another funk number, his standout on Vulfpeck’s 2020 record The Joy of Music, The Job of Real Estate, “3 On E.”
Antwuan would return to help Cory Wong slide into the encore with a cover of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Can’t Hide Love.” Wong and Lettieri touched on The Fearless Flyers catalog to seal the show with “Assassin.”
