Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles Release ‘Rise’ Single

shared a new single, “Rise,” out now via Culture Collective. Proceeds from the song will benefit civil rights advocacy group Color Of Change.
A singer, songwriter and Hammond organ master, Cory Henry has played with Snarky Puppy, Ty Dolla $ign, Robert Randolph, Marcus Miller, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Vulfpeck and Jacob Collier. “Rise” is the first in a series of singles Henry will release this summer. Cory detailed the new tune in a statement.

“I wrote this song to help inspire people all over the world to come together and Rise to make it a better world,” he said. “There is no time more than right now that this is needed. My hope is that this song lifts the spirits of everyone impacted by social injustice, the pandemic and all other challenges we face in the world today.”
