Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy Talks Phish Fandom With Katy Tur

2017 has been the year MSNBC host Katy Tur has let her Phish flag fly. Tur continues to work references to the Vermont band into her broadcasts on a fairly regular basis and today spoke about the quartet with Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy.
Murphy appeared on Tur’s MSNBC show this afternoon and Katy turned the talk to Phish. “I know you have at least one Phish song on your playlist Senator, am I going to see you at the New Year’s Eve run?” Tur asked. The Senator disappointed Katy by responding, “I will not be there, I am not as dedicated a fan as you are.” Murphy went on to reveal, “I consider myself a fan. My wife went to college up in Burlington, when they were playing Nectar’s. So I’ve been listening to them for a long time.”
