The Late Show With Stephen Colbert bandleader Louis Cato recently delivered a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR. The guitarist and singer-songwriter performed four tracks off his 2023 album, Reflections.

Louis Cato released Reflections on August 11. The guitarist and his band — bassist Jeremy McDonald, guitarist Randy Runyon and drummer James Williams — kicked off their feel good Tiny Desk performance with Reflections closer, “Cutie Baby.” Louis then experienced a problem guitarists can certainly relate to, losing his pick, which is remedied before the bright opening strains of Reflections‘ title track.

Cato then extols the power of live music before going solo acoustic on the introspective “Unsightly Room.” Next, the band returns and Cato takes the opportunity to introduce them as guitarist Randy Runyon provides some “atmospheric, meditative sounds.” The quartet then brings the session to a close with “Human.”
