Chris Robinson Brotherhood Debuts The Band Cover In St. Petersburg

By Scott Bernstein Jul 21, 2016 1:01 pm PDT

On Tuesday night the Chris Robinson Brotherhood continued summer tour at the State Theatre in St. Petersburg, Florida. The big news from the show was the debut cover of The Band’s “This Wheel’s On Fire” as part of The CRB’s first set.

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood has covered hundreds of bands over the past five years, but according to Setlist.fm Tuesday was the first time they performed a song by The Band. Robinson and his band did “This Wheel’s On Fire” justice, offering a slinky and groovy take that expanded to nearly ten minutes. Tuesday’s show also featured a number of songs off the group’s soon-to-be-released new studio album Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” and more.
