The Black Crowes helped close out the Stagecoach Festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California on Sunday. Blackberry Smoke guitarist Charlie Starr performed in the stead of Crowes guitarist Isaiah Mitchell. Isaiah is currently touring Europe with Earthless.

The Black Crowes kicked off their set with “Twice As Hard” from their 1990 debut album Shake Your Money Maker, which the band just finished up celebrating the 30 anniversary of. “Twice As Hard” saw Starr jumping right in, delivering lead guitar on the tune before the band got into “Sting Me” from their 1992 LP The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion.

The Crowes then returned to Money Maker with the classic “Jealous Again” ahead of “Kickin’ My Heart Around” from 1999’s By Your Side. The Amorica standout “Wiser Time” followed ahead of Lions favorite “Soul Singing,” which prefaced two more tunes from Money Maker, “She Talks To Angels” and “Stare It Cold.” “Thorn In My Pride” counted as the penultimate song of the set ahead of the band’s hit cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle,” which also appeared on Money Maker.
