Independent concert promoter Another Planet Entertainment is opening a new venue in Sacramento in early 2025, as per the company’s concerts and festivals’ Allen Scott. The aptly named Channel 24 will be located on 24th Street in the California capital’s midtown area.

Designed and built from scratch with a capacity of 2,150, the two-level theater and club boasts a central music room with a general admission floor along with a reserved seat balcony. Channel 24 also features multiple bars, a kitchen, VIP area and upstairs open-air patio.

Additionally, the building will be home to Another Planet Entertainment offices and Channel 24’s operational team. The venue is the first for Another Planet — North America’s largest independent concert promoter — in Sacramento.

Channel 24 is a much needed additional Sacramento stop for artists trekking between Nevada and Bay Area markets, with city officials recently deeming Sacramento “in need of more live music performance venues.”

“Over the years we’ve gotten many requests from artists interested in playing in Sacramento, but the venue options have been pretty limited,” Another Planet’s Allen Scott stated.

Another Planet recently teamed with Los Angeles club owner Michael Swier (Teragram Ballroom, Moroccan Lounge) to open L.A.’s Bellwether. Also in Another Planet’s purview are Berkeley’s Greek Theatre, Oakland’s Fox Theater, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, The Independent and more Bay Area and Lake Tahoe area venues. The company also promotes festivals Outside Lands and Life Is Beautiful.

Channel 24 is one of Another Planet’s latest endeavors, although it has been a long time in the making.

“It’s been an almost 10-year process,”Scott said. “From searching for the right location to working closely with the city on the right design and build, we’re excited to reveal what we’ve been working on and we are confident that Channel 24 is going to be a great addition to the Sacramento music community.”
