The latest installment in NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert video series features a performance by Chance The Rapper. The appearance included a song from his acclaimed 2016 release Coloring Book, as well as a freshly written poem reading and a cover of a Stevie Wonder classic.
The set saw Chance backed by trumpeter Nico Segal, keyboardist Peter Wilkins, drummer Greg “Stix” Landfair Jr. and vocalists Rachele Robinson, Ben Lusher, Elliot Skinner and Richard Saunders. The talented collective started their Tiny Desk Concert with the Coloring Book track “Juke Jam.” Next came Chance reading a poem he wrote on the drive from his Washington D.C. hotel to Bob Boilen’s desk at NPR. The poem reading was trailed by a closing cover of Stevie Wonder’s “They Won’t Go When I Go.”
