Cast Of ‘Super Troopers’ Joins Willie Nelson In Boston

Members of the comedy team Broken Lizard are currently shooting shooting Super Troopers 2, the upcoming sequel to their hilarious 2001 feature film. Outlaw country legend Willie Nelson performed near the Super Troopers 2 set and ended up bring up members of the law enforcement cast during his concert at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston Monday night.
As Consequence of Sound noted, Broken Lizard actor Jay Chandrasekhar offered Nelson security detail via a pre-show tweet. The 83-year-old musician responded that he was “always glad to have you boys on my team” and later held a meeting on his tour bus after Chandrasekhar and other Super Troopers police officers “pulled over” Nelson’s vehicle.
The Super Troopers cast members also joined Willie & The Family Band onstage during a performance of the song “It’s All Going To Pot,” which Nelson originally recorded with the late great Merle Haggard. Nelson shared a short clip of the collaboration, watch here:
