Cass McCombs & Joe Russo Present Last-Minute NYC Show

Singer-songwriter Cass McCombs led a band that included Joe Russo on drums and Jon Shaw through a performance at the intimate confines of Max Fish on Manhattan’s Lower East Side in NYC last night. The show had just been announced earlier in the day, but that didn’t stop Big Apple live music fans from showing up in force to watch the set in Max Fish’s basement.

McCombs’ performance included a rendition of “Dark Star,” a song Russo knows well from his time in Furthur and as leader of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. Photographer Scott Harris was one of those jammed into Max Fish’s basement and has shared some shots of the set with us:
