California Roots Unveils Reggae-Heavy 2024 Lineup Additions & Daily Breakdown

The California Roots Music & Arts Festival returns to Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California over Memorial Day Weekend, May 24 – 26. Organizers revealed the second round of the 2024 Cali Roots lineup as well as a day-by-day breakdown of the action.

E-40 and Too Short and a headliner to be announced top the bill on Friday, May 24. J Boog, The Elovaters, Fortunate Youth, Living Legends, Souls of Mischief and more will also perform on the first day of the 13th annual Cali Roots.

Brothers Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Stephen Marley will headline the festival on Saturday, May 25 with Stephen performing a special acoustic set. Others aboard on the 25th include Burning Spear, Tribal Seeds, The Expendables, Xavier Rudd, Rawayana, L.A.B, Claire Wright and The Wide Eyed Kids.

Rebelution and Ice Cube will headline the California Roots schedule on Sunday, May 26 after sets by Pepper, Lupe Fiasco, Collie Buddz, The Green, Little Stranger and others.

Organized by Good Vibez Presents, Cali Roots features many reggae acts with hip-hop, rock and world music artists also infused into the diverse lineup. “When looking ahead to 2024’s festival, we have been talking a lot about fan economics, specifically what it costs for you to spend Memorial Day weekend with us: from ticket prices, to rising hotel costs, to days off work, and beyond,” the Good Vibez team announced in a statement to fans late last year. “With that in mind, we’ve decided to revert back to a three day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) format for Cali Roots 2024. This will allow us to hyperfocus our team’s energy and resources on leveling up your experience and our production to make Cali Roots accessible to more fans.”
