California Roots Announces Initial 2020 Lineup

California Roots Music and Arts Festival announced its initial 2020 lineup. Now in its 11th year, the festival returns to the Monterey County Fair and Event Center May 22 – 24 and will see performances from renowned reggae artists Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Jimmy Cliff as well as hip hop legend Ice Cube.

The bill also includes festival favorites J Boog, Trevor Hall, Tarrus Riley, Hirie, Iya Terra, Mike Love, and Bumpin Uglies. New to Cali Roots in 2020 are soul group Durand Jones & The Indications, Brazilian reggae band Natiruts, French outfit Dub Inc, music collective Satsang, as well as up and coming singer Vana Liya to help usher the festival into its second decade.

“Our ten year anniversary was such a milestone event and ended the first decade of Cali Roots perfectly. We are going into our eleventh year with more momentum than ever,” festival co-producer Dan Sheehan said in a statement. “The Cali Roots movement started here, but stretches across the country and worldwide. As we continue to partner and grow nationally, we can feel the impact of our event and brand and how it continues to bring people together through this amazing community.”

A pre-sale for the event begins on Monday, October 28 at 10 a.m. PT while general onsales get underway on Tuesday, October 29 at 10 a.m. PT. Head here for ticket info.
