Built To Spill Plots ‘There’s Nothing Wrong With Love’ 30th Anniversary Tour

Built to Spill is embarking on a lengthy tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1994 album, There’s Nothing Wrong With Love. The trek for frontman Doug Martsch and company gets underway in August and will stretch into the fall.
Built to Spill’s second full-length studio album, There’s Nothing Wrong With Love, arrived on September 13, 1994 via Up Records. The LP was the only BtS album with former drummer Andy Capps and first with longtime bassist Brett Nelson who departed the band a decade ago.

BtS’ lineup for the past few years has included bassist Melanie Radford and drummer Teresa Esguerra. In a social media post, the band also noted that There’s Nothing Wrong With Love cellist John McMahon will be along for the ride on the celebratory trek, which will feature a complete performance of the album.
BtS kick off the There’s Nothing Wrong With Love 30th Anniversary Tour on August 9 in their hometown of Boise, Idaho at Shrine Social Club. Pacific Northwest dates include Walla Walla (Washington), Bend (Oregon), Tacoma (Washington) and a two-night stint with Yo La Tengo in Portland and Seattle.
August 16 will see the band in Spokane (Washington) ahead of Montana dates in Helena and Billings. BtS then launch a Midwest run in Minneapolis on August 20.
Additional Midwest dates include Chicago (two nights), St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Detroit. Next, a Northeast stint begins with concert in Pittsburgh, Asbury Park (New Jersey), Portland (Maine), Norwalk (Connecticut), Boston (two nights), Philadelphia and New York come next.
On September 9, the band will perform in Washington D.C. ahead of dates in Carrboro (North Carolina), Charleston (South Carolina) Asheville (North Carolina), Atlanta, Nashville and Memphis.
A Texas swing gets underway on September 18 in Dallas followed by an Austin concert. Stops in Oklahoma City, Omaha, Denver and Phoenix are next. It’s then on to the West Coast with shows in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco (two nights). The There’s Nothing Wrong With Love 30th anniversary Tour wraps on September 29 at Harlows in Sacramento.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. ET.
