BTS appeared on the first of two back-to-back episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night. The K-pop band discussed their new album, ARIRANG, and performed a song from the record, “SWIM.”
BTS recorded their performance of “SWIM” at New York City’s Guggenheim Museum. The members of BTS – RM, Jin, SUGA, j‑hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook – also taped a segment with host Jimmy Fallon that saw the group surprising unsuspecting fans singing covers of “SWIM.”
BTS last performed together on The Tonight Show during a July 2021 takeover. The return to 30 Rock followed the group completing mandatory military service in South Korea.
During the interview portion of the episode, BTS talked about their time away in the military and excitement for their upcoming international tour supporting AIRANG. BTS also went into the meanings behind “SWIM,” and fellow album tracks, “2.0” and “NORMAL.” The chat with Fallon additionally saw BTS fielding questions from fans and more.
