Bruce Springsteen Officially Announces ‘Western Stars’ Film
This fall, Bruce Springsteen‘s Western Stars film will be released. The movie, directed by Springsteen and marking his directorial debut, features The Boss performing all 13 tracks from his new album of the same name with a band and full orchestra in a historic barn.
A first look at the film premieres today before showings of Blinded By The Light, a new movie about a Brit from Pakistani descent whose life changes when introduced to the music of Bruce Springsteen. Western Stars will get its world premiere at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival. Springsteen’s longtime collaborator, filmmaker Thom Zimmy co-directed Western Stars.
“Bruce lives in the super rarified air of artists who have blazed new and important trails deep into their careers. With ‘Western Stars,’ Bruce is pivoting yet again, taking us with him on an emotional and introspective cinematic journey, looking back and looking ahead,” said Toby Emmerich, Chairman Warner Bros. Pictures Group in a statement. “As one of his many fans for over 40 years, I couldn’t be happier to be a rider on this train with Bruce and Thom.”
