Bruce Springsteen Loads Charlotte Show With Covers

The Boss played five songs he’s yet to perform this year, most of which came in response to signs held by fans in the audience. Springsteen showed this wouldn’t be a typical show right from the start as he treated fans to the first full band version of “Iceman” -a song Bruce cut for Darkness On The Edge Of Town that didn’t make it onto the 1978 album. The parade of tour debuts continued later in the set with the year’s first covers of “Louie, Louie,” “Mustang Sally” and “Brown Eyed Girl.” The latter, a Van Morrison cover, was debuted and last played by the E Street Band at the same venue on November 3, 2009.
