The Laid Back Festival came to PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey Thursday evening. The concert honoring the legacy of late co-founder Gregg Allman featured performances by Jackson Browne and Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul. Both acts were joined by special guest Bruce Springsteen.
Yesterday’s Laid Back Festival bill also featured sets by Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band and Peter Wolf. The Boss emerged to join his The E Street Band guitarist on “It’s Been A Long Time” and he augmented Little Steven & The Disciples Of Soul on a rendition of “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.” Springsteen’s guest spot came right before Wolf had joined Little Steven on “Freeze Frame.”
Bruce stuck around to perform a pair of songs with Browne, taking the stage for a rendition of “Take It Easy.” The Boss and Browne also tackled “Our Lady Of The Well” together. Browne’s set featured Little Steven (Stevie Van Zandt) adding vocals to a rendition of “I Am A Patriot” as well.
